Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is quickly becoming one of the greatest health concerns in America. Learn how to improve your health and comfort by reviewing the information on our site. Then visit our suggested sites link to learn even more about IAQ.
A few quick tips...
If there is mold growth in your home, you must clean up the mold and fix the water problem. If you clean up the mold, but don't fix the water problem then the mold will return.
If you suspect that the heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) system may be contaminated with mold, have a HVAC technician investigate the problem further. In the meantime, do not run the HVAC system if you know or suspect that it is contaminated with mold - it could spread mold throughout the building. Mainstream offers an inexpensive easy-to-use mold test kit (found here) you can use to help determine the severity of your mold problem.
Fix plumbing leaks and other water problems as soon as possible and dry all items completely.
Scrub mold off hard surfaces with detergent and water, then dry completely. .
